The Professional Connector Program helps strengthen Western Nova Scotia’s workforce by connecting emerging talent with established professionals who understand the realities of working and building careers in our region.
This program is built on conversation, connection, and insight to create meaningful introductions, honest discussions about the local labour market, and relationships that help people navigate career opportunities in Western Nova Scotia.
Who The Program Is For
This program is designed for post-secondary graduates, newcomers, and emerging professionals who want to build local connections, understand the regional labour market, and access opportunities that are often difficult to reach without a personal introduction.
How the Professional Connector Program Works
1. Intake and Matching
Each Connectee and Connector is matched intentionally, based on industry, experience, and professional interests.
2. One-to-One Conversations
Connectees meet with their assigned Connector for a professional conversation focused on career pathways, industry insight, and local opportunities.
3. Meaningful Outcomes
The goal of every connection is progress. Ideally, this leads to employment. At minimum, Connectees are supported in building their network through several quality professional referrals.
Connectees
Connectees include recent university and NSCC graduates, newcomers, and international students who are motivated to build a career in Western Nova Scotia. They may be seeking employment, professional direction, or a better understanding of how their skills align with local industries.
