Western REN Unveils Five-Part Video Series

Your Future, Anchored in the Ocean Economy

Celebrating Our Coastal Strength and Inspiring the Next Generation

Western Nova Scotia is known for its rugged coastline, deep traditions, and resilient people. But more than that — we are innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers, and builders, shaping a strong future rooted in the ocean.

The Western Regional Enterprise Network (Western REN) is proud to launch “Your Future, Anchored in the Ocean Economy”, a five-part video series that shines a spotlight on our region’s incredible marine-driven opportunities.

Produced by the talented team at New Brooklyn Media, these videos capture the heart and potential of the Blue Economy here in Western Nova Scotia. They are available in both English and French and are now live on the Western REN YouTube Channel.

This series was inspired by the Western Region Innovation Strategy, developed in partnership with local leaders through the MIT REAP (Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program). One clear message emerged: Our future is not elsewhere — it’s here, on the water, in our communities, and in the hands of the next generation.
