Western REN’s 2026 Labour Market Survey

Shape the Future of Western Nova Scotia’s Workforce

The Western Regional Enterprise Network (Western REN) has launched the 2026 Western Nova Scotia Labour Market Survey. We invite businesses across the region to share their workforce realities. The survey takes only a few minutes and focuses on the real hiring, retention, and skills challenges that local employers are navigating every day.

Businesses are asked to weigh in on areas such as skilled trades demand, professional workforce needs, and apprenticeship opportunities.

The survey captures on-the-ground realities across sectors like seafood, tourism, retail, construction, and services. This ensures future strategies reflect the actual needs of Western Nova Scotia’s business community.

“Good regional planning starts with listening,” said Western REN CEO Angelique LeBlanc. “This survey is one of the ways we make sure the decisions being made about workforce and economic development are rooted in what local employers are experiencing at the hiring table.”

Insights from the 2026 Labour Market Survey will guide Western REN’s work on workforce development. We will share our findings later this year, giving businesses and community partners a clearer picture of Western Nova Scotia’s labour landscape.

The survey is open now.
